Do you really think that theres hope? Do you truly and honestly believe there's a path forward, a way out of this darkness, some miraculous savior who will bring you all to enlightenment? Is it worth the pain? The fear? The exhaustion?

I don't get it.

What don't you understand?

What you said. I don't get it. If I already failed, why should I keep going? What makes you think I want to get better? Why should I put my trust in you?

I know what you went through, I know what you feel, I know how you ache. There is something inside of you that feels broken, but it's never going to be fixed by waiting around for a guardian angel to swoop in and make you forget what happened. We were a child. We did not deserve that, and we don't deserve this punishment for what we did and had done to us. You are stuck in an infinite loop of self-flagellation, digging for the reason why this all happened. But the truth is, there is no reason. There is nothing to explain it. You were not chosen, you were not cursed, you were not a target of some plot, you were unlucky. You were a child and you were unlucky. There is no amount of storytelling that will change that fact. Why continue to punish yourself for the actions of people long ago? Why continue to hurt that child deep inside you, who just wants to be set free? Why would you put yourself through all this torment and misery, when people are willing to open their arms and assist you in becoming whole once more? You have to listen to me. There is more to life than this. You've felt it, even if you do not remember. The sun on your skin, the wind in your hair, the water on your ankles, you've been alive before and I know that what you really wish for is to go back to a time when life felt worth living. You can make that time now, you can make new memories, new connections. The only thing stopping us from achieving this is you.
